Dance Policies and Procedures

  • Dress Code: Required dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes.  It is very important that dancers dress appropriately in order for instructors to ensure their posture is correct. Students are not permitted to wear jeans to any dance class (summer camps excluded).

  • For ballet class students should wear black dance leotards, pink dance tights, and pink ballet shoes. For Jazz/Hip-hop classes students are permitted to wear  all black attire: leotards, dance top,  dance shorts, black jazz pants , and cargo pants.  Shoes required for Jazz/Hip-hop class are Jazz shoes or dance sneakers. Dance clothes and shoes can be found at our studio online shop or a local dance store. For further details please feel free to contact instructor.

  • For safety reasons dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry.  Long hair must be tied back.

  • Rules in dance classes: No gum chewing, eating or drinking (except water) are allowed in the class room. Students who make too many interruptions during class, will be asked to observe the class.  ADA reserves the right to expel students from the program who have consistent behavior problems.

  • Substitutions:  The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes.  If a teacher is ill and the school cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up.

  • Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes:  If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the teaching year.  No refunds for lessons missed due these reasons will be given. Classes will not be prorated for students at will absence from classes.

  • Injuries:  Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.

​

  • Classes: There is a five student minimum for each class. The maximum is 15-25 students per class. Class days and times are subject to change. 
     

  • Payments: Payment for classes is due on the first day of class for each month, prior to class. Late payments are subject to  a late fee of $25.00. There will be a 5 day grace period for any late payments. Students with delinquent accounts after the grace period will not be permitted to attend class until their account is current. Notices will not be sent unless the account is past due.
